Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook will show you how to master easy methods and her signature hairstyles that are spiky and blond. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of the top restaurants in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a great opportunity for me. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. Chef Burrell who graduated from The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy worked for one year in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impression on her eating habits. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef in the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. In her role as a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to talk about her love of cooking and food, as well as to talk about her profession in culinary. Through the course of her cooking career, Anne has said, "I feel so lucky to be able to share my true passion to others.
