Milena Govich
Milena Govich is a writer, director as
well as an actor and musician who has helmed many episodes of TV, including The
Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire
(2012) and Chicago Fire (2012), among others. She was also the Co-EP/Producing
director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently working on two
pilots that are in development. Milena was chosen as one of the eight directors
for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Unspeakable was her television
series and short film. With Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort, it won the Best
Episodic Award at Seattle International Film Festival as in addition to Best
Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017
directed by Milena Vandervoort) was screened across the US. It won the title of
Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta
ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also awarded at Sedona
International Film Festival. Milena was an actor in more than 100 television
shows. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as
the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her first appearance on CBS. She then became
the only female detective in Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The
Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori
Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have been a part of her, or have
recurred. Milena was also seen in a variety of films, including Sordid Things
(2008); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred alongside Steve Guttenberg;
Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She also starred opposite
Method Man. Milena is a Norman, Oklahoma native. After graduating valedictorian
from her high school and then going further to get a double major in singing
and premed along with minors in dance and violin at the University of Central
Oklahoma. Her classical ballet training soon after to make her Broadway debut
in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
