Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan, born on the 23rd of March, 1976 is an American actor. Her most well-known roles include her roles in the films Kiss Bang Bang (2006), Gone Baby Gone (2007, Made of Honor (2008)), Trucker (2008) and Source Code (2011). She has also received recognition for her performance in the role of Julia Meade in the action spy film series Mission: Impossible, appearing in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).On the television screen, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the first season of the anthology crime-drama series True Detective (2014), in which she earned an award nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the drama The Path, a drama series The Path (2016), she starred in the role as Sarah Lane. Monaghan played the role of Eva Geller on the 2020 Netflix thriller series Messiah. The show was cancelled after only one season. Monaghan was the child of Sharon Hammel (a factory worker) in Winthrop. Bob as well as John are her brothers older than her. Monaghan is of Irish and German roots and was raised Catholic.She graduated from East Buchanan High School in 1994. After graduation, she moved to Chicago to pursue a journalism degree at Columbia College Chicago and began to model. Models have also appeared in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore as well as the United States. In 1999, she had one more semester to finish her degree in journalism. She moved to New York to pursue an acting career. Her career began as a model. Monaghan's two first television credits, as a supporting character, were for episodes of Young Americans in 2000. She also played a character on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in "Consent" which was an episode that aired on the 19th of January 2001. She made her debut on screen that same year in Perfume, playing the part of Henrietta. Her next film, also as a supporting character and in 2002 in Unfaithful which starred Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
