Naomi Watts
Naomi Ellen
Watts (born 28 September 1968) is a British actress from Britain. Her debut
film role came in Australia in For Love Alone (1986), followed by three
television series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away
(1991) and Flirting (1991). After making the move to the United States, Watts
initially was not a successful actress, playing roles in smaller-scale films
until she appeared in David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive in
2001 as an actress in training. Her rise to fame internationally was spurred by
the part. Watts was then in the role of a tortured journalist in The Ring
(2002). Her portrayal of an emotional mother in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was
nominated her for the Academy Award. Watts continued to climb in fame with her
performances in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as well as
Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). Watts was also nominated
for the Academy Award as Best Actress for her performance in The Impossible
(2012). She was in films like Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) and While We're
Young (2015). Watts was also a prominent character in blockbuster films,
appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
