Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was born in Ottawa, Ontario
Canada on 27 August 1976. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug Chalke. Sarah
is the middle child having one older sister Natasha Chalke, and one younger,
Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut on TV in a made-for-TV movie, City
Boy (1992). Following her first film she auditioned in 1993 for the role
"Becky" from Roseanne (1988). The show was seeking someone to fill in
for Alicia Goranson quit the show to go to college. Sarah graduated from high
school in 1995. She was also involved in the production of Roseanne (1988)
between 1994 and 1995. In 1994, Sarah starred alongside Jim Varney in Ernest
Goes to School (1994). Then, in 1996 she was in two films that included Robin
of Locksley (1996), and also Stand Against Fear (1996) where she was a
cheerleader "Krista Wilson". Sarah was invited to appear on a
television show named Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) which was a year
following Roseanne (1988). It was based on the show Nothing Too Good for a
Cowboy (2000), Sarah also appeared in the show. She was able to take over
Becky's (1988) role from Alicia Goranson. She declared that she'd like to stop
acting and enroll in college. [2001] (1993-1997) Was the younger sister to Sara
Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) although she's actually younger. Participated in the
1999 CCMA awards ceremony and was presented with the award for the most
memorable single. [September 1999] At age eight, appeared in Vancouver stage
productions. Can speak fluently in French as well as German. She helps out at a
hospice facility for children who are terminally ill and works for the Audrey
Hepburn Children's Fund. Chalke likes cooking with her friends, especially Thai
as well as sushi and playing the guitar. She also enjoys ski (she is an instructor),
kayaking, snowboarding as well as reading. Her father is a lawyer, as are both
her parents are mediators. Both run a child adoption agency. She went with her
parents to China two years ago to help coordinate the adoptions of orphans.
